This record car of those days has inline six single overhead cam (SOHC) 1500 cc engine with a supercharger. A supercharger was engaged on the same line of the crankshaft. SU carburettor exists next to the supercharger.
The brakes are connected with a wire which reminds the age of production.

T series Midget, first produced before the World War II was ceased production during the war. TA and TB were produced before the war and TC, TD and TF after the war. The TC is almost the same as prewar TB. The engine was overhead valve (OHV) inline four. The basic displacement is 1275 cc, while later TF had 1500 cc engine.

The front wings were incorporated into the body. The radiator cap is a gimmick.
YA/ YB sedans were contemporary with T-series Midget. This sample is a rare tourer of Y-sedan and beautifully restored to the concours condition.
MG-A appeared in 1955. This car was first prodeuced as TF special. So a body was placed on a ladder frame. It is one of typical British Roadster with a beautiful body line. The 1500 and 1600 OHV inline four engine was named BMC B-type engine. Several hundreds of cars had double overhead cam (DOHC) head called MG-A Twincum. Luxury fixed head coupes (FHC) were also in production.
The relationship of ZA/ZB Magnet and MG-A is the same as T-series Midget and YA/YB sedan. It is a beautiful sedan with a lot of common components with MG-A. The engine is, of course, B-type engine.
MG-B had been produced for 20 years as a successor of MG-A. The body was monocoque construction. The engine was 1800 cc B-type. MG-B Mk1 had an aluminium bonnet. A five-mile bumper model was introduced in 1974 to meet the regulation of USA and produced up to 1980. The body styles were a tourer and a fastback coupe called MG-B GT.
Some derivative models were introduced; MG-C and MG-C GT had OHV inline six engine from Austin-Healey 3000, MG-B GT V8 had 3500 cc OHV V8 engine from Rover.
MG Midget was introduced as one of twin model of Austin-Healey Sprite Mk. 2 which is a succeeding model of a frogeye Sprite. It is placed a little more luxury car than Sprite, having side moles and so on. The engine was BMC A-type inline four. Early Mk. 1 had 948 cc, late Mk. 1 and Mk. 2 had 1098 cc, and Mk. 3 had 1275 cc engines. As an introduction of five-mile bumper model 1500 cc triumph Spitfire's inline four engine was mounted.
