SUMS accepted two radiological technologists from Cho Ray
Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, and provided them with technical training
in the Radiology Department of our hospital for 43 days from November 3 till
December 15, 2007. This follows three similar training visits from Viet Nam;
in April 2006, and in November 2006, in 2007 April.
The training visits were
conducted by SUMS at the request of JICA as one of their Grassroots Technical
Cooperation Projects (support and cooperation in medical technology for clinical
radiology technologists). The objective is to instruct personnel in the correct
usage of radiology apparatus, in Viet Nam and in Japan, with a particular view
to minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure to patients and personnel during
treatments.
Here are comments from the two trainees:
Mr.VU PHAM TUAN ANH said, "I
want to share what I have studied in Shiga University of Medical Science Hospital
with my colleague and friends who work for other hospitals in Viet Nam ."
Mr.BUI VAN PHAM said, "I hope SUMS will continue to keep on this project
and sponsor our staff coming here for studying."
