On February 16, 2010, we received the delegation from Canada, headed by Mr. Allan Rock, the President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ottawa, and entered into a cooperative agreement with the University of Ottawa.
Prior to the signing ceremony, a research conference was held by the two universities, where presentations and discussions about brain disorders, regenerative medicine and techniques were given. Also, the delegation took a tour of our Research Center for Animal Life Science. These interactive events helped to deepen our new relationship.
The Canadian delegation consisted of executive officers and researchers from IBM Canada Ltd., the National Research Council of Canada, the Embassy of Canada, as well as the University of Ottawa, because this agreement is part of a newly establishing Global Network, unlike our existing agreements with other institutions. The University of Ottawa is leading the Global Network among academic institutions and industrial firms from Canada, Japan and Germany, with the support of the Canadian Government. This new agreement is expected to play an important role in facilitating the development of international and coordinated collaborations in the Global Network.
