| On the 7th of January, 2009, an annual social gathering called “Evening for International Exchange” was held.
Our international students, researchers, their family members, local volunteers for international goodwill, Japanese students, university authorities and staff members participated. A total of seventy four people got together and had a good time in a friendly atmosphere.
This year, participants could enjoy the genuine tastes of Bangladeshi beef curry and Chinese dumplings “gyoza” which were cooked by overseas students and researchers as special dishes.
Our students’ orchestra and chorus members gave a wonderful music performance. And led by them, all participants sang “Biwako Shuko no Uta (Lake Biwa Crusing Song)” together as is customary at this gathering.
This annual event is a good opportunity for people who are related to the International exchange activities of SUMS to communicate with each other.
