From November 11 to 13, Prof. Ho Siew Eng, the chair of the Nursing Department, Faculty of Medicine, National University of Malaysia (UKM) visited SUMS. UKM is one of several institutions that have a cooperative agreement with SUMS.

SUMS plans to introduce an elective course for forth-year students in the Faculty of Nursing for independent study abroad, at UKM Medical Centre (UKMMC) and other regional institutions. As part of the preparations for creating this course, SUMS invited Professor Ho to tour our university and hospital, and to give a lecture about nursing care and nursing education at UKMMC.

Since Professor Ho is not only the chair of nursing education but also the head of nursing care professionals, she oversees various aspects of the UKMMC which provides the most advanced medical care in Malaysia. That made her lecture very interesting. Many of our students of the Nursing Faculty, faculty members and nursing professionals of our hospital attended to hear her presentation. It was a most fruitful lecture meeting.
