| On December 2, 2008, an excursion for overseas students, researchers and their families was held. We visited the Kyoto factory of Kinki Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Ltd. and Horyuji in Nara.
At the factory of Coca-Cola, we had a tour and learned the history of Coca-Cola, the process of manufacture, their hygienic management and their environmental measures.
At Horyuji in Nara, we could have a chance to experience the majestic history of the temple, listening to detailed explanations by kind volunteer guides and seeing various historical treasures. We were very pleased to visit the world’s oldest wooden structure which has become the first treasure of any kind in Japan to be selected by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. Some of the participants say that they want to revisit the temple, especially during cherry blossom season.
