From February 16 to 18, a delegation from SUMS, including Vice President Hattori, Professor Tooyama: Director of the Molecular Neuroscience Research Center, Professor Miyamatsu of Clinical Nursing Department, and Professor Aiura: Director of the International Liaison Office, visited Universiti Kabangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for the purpose of introducing our new Leading Graduate School Doctoral Program and of mutual exchange of researchers.
A couple of general meetings and some exchange meetings were held, and then two further separate meetings were held; one was for discussing future exchanges with the faculty of nursing, SUMS, and the other for research exchange in the field of molecular neuroscience.
Also, the delegation toured the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI) and newly renovated research buildings in the Medical Center. The members of the SUMS delegation were inspired by seeing vigorous research using the most-advanced technologies being carried out there. The visit to UKM was short, but fruitful.
